We know that Jesus suffered and died on a cross. Did it break Him? John’s answer in our passage is a resounding “No!” Instead, we see that Jesus’ physical suffering fulfilled Scripture and that our Savior’s death defeated sin.
We can find forgiveness because of the finished work of Christ.
